Shady Realtors

It has just become extremely clear to me that I don’t like working with shady Realtors any more than the public. There I said it!

The business of real estate is tough and often has a kind of stigma associated with it. I do not associate with this stigma therefore when I come across Realtors that embody this stereotype it; well it makes me feel for those that have done business with them and truly believe ALL Realtors are that way.

Shady Realtors do not make my job easy, in fact quite the opposite. As someone that operates from a place of honesty & loyalty when I work with someone that is less than honest it can be quite difficult. Don’t get me wrong, when I need to be assertive and negotiate for my clients I will & do, but I always know the objective behind what I am doing. And believe it or not this can be done in an honest fashion.

When I am dealing with shady Realtors the fastest way for me to identify them is by the inconsistencies in their stories as well as their attempt to dictate the way a deal is going to go down.  I am seeing this most often with agents dealing with sellers of short sales; which does not have to be the case. This is when I know I have to be alert and ready for anything, while keeping my clients best interest in the forefront.

My belief is that these agents have either forgotten or never really understood what this business is. Customer service! As a real estate agent I understand that my job is to use my expert knowledge to be of service to my clients, and my clients know this! Many of my clients are successful business people; therefore there are many things I do not need to help them understand. As a real estate professional I do have the knowledge and experience to be an extremely powerful partner to my clients. I not only work for them I work with them.

Why even address this issue? Because for those people that hate Realtors I want you to know not everyone is shady. There are some of us that will truly be there for you & always have your best interest at heart. Maybe in some way I want those that do not have a favorable thought of those shady Realtors to know that they are not alone.

As someone that has been in the business for quite a while I’m happy to be able to associate myself with all those Realtors that are really good at customer service. The good ones may be harder to find but I promise we’re out there and when you find one of us, you’ll know. If you are currently working with someone you believe is a shady Realtor, make a change the difference will be worth it.
